Inside the Performance Enhancing Bodywork Curriculum

Demaris Parker · · 6 min read

Performance Enhancing Bodywork isn’t a bag of tricks — it’s a system, taught in a deliberate order. This is the 20-week PEB curriculum: how it builds from the first principles of touch all the way to a full-body practical assessment, one position at a time.

How the training is built

Before a single technique, we start with the fundamentals that make everything else work: touch, connection, and body mechanics. From there we draw the distinction that defines the whole method — neurology vs. muscle — and how the body genuinely changes over time. We map body types along the spectrum of flexibility versus density, because the same pressure lands differently on different bodies.

From that foundation, the curriculum moves through the body by position — seated, side-lying, prone, then supine — layering review weeks so nothing is left behind before we go deeper.

Foundations

Weeks 1–2
  • Intro to touch, connection & body mechanics
  • Neurology vs. muscle — and how the body changes over time
  • Body types: flexibility vs. density

Seated & Side-Lying

Weeks 3–5
  • Seated: shoulders, scapula release, overhead “salute” release, torso twist
  • Side-lying: torso twist, hip flexor, quad release, hip prying
  • Side-lying review: shoulder inhibition, lat pull, scalene release

Prone

Weeks 6–8
  • Erector spacing, windshield wipers, rhomboid release, shear treatment
  • Hamstring prying, knee activation, greater-trochanter prying, internal/external rotation, lumbar release, abduction activation, anterior-tilt adjustment
  • Side-lying & prone review, plus Q&A

Supine — Hips & Core

Weeks 9–11
  • Hip rotations and angles, hip activation & integration
  • Hip review, psoas adjustment, psoas integration
  • Full review

Supine — Arms & Shoulders

Weeks 12–14
  • Hand/wrist adjustments, elbow prying, anterior shoulder prying, rhomboid release
  • Arm review, capsule adjustment, shrug, forward press, superior retention, collarbone release
  • Arm & shoulder review

Supine — Neck & Head

Weeks 15–17
  • Neck horizontal rotation, lateral flexion, prying, pressured trap release, pressured occiput release, rotational activation & integration
  • Neck review, advanced cervical extension & platysma prying, cervical flexion & occiput release
  • Full supine review

Lower Legs & Integration

Weeks 18–20
  • Foot, ankle & calf release
  • Full-body review
  • Practical & assessment, Q&A, completion

Week 21: The Party

Twenty weeks of real work earns a real celebration. The final week is a party — because mastery should be marked, and because the people who go through this together become a community.

Who the curriculum is for

This training is for bodyworkers, trainers, partners, and serious students who want to administer healing with ease and intent — not force. It pairs naturally with a Qigong practice, which trains the very sensitivity this work depends on. To experience the results first, start with a session on the Performance Enhancing Bodywork page.
